Get to know a little more about Vince with some Q&A.
What’s your professional background?
I’m a technologist with a sharp focus on the the digital revolution, but I’m also a proud member of the creative class. It’s an interesting paradox, but also a gift that allows me to move easily between worlds to bring together the best thinking of writers, designers and developers.
I help teams accomplish great things. I’m a project manager and business analyst by training, but I can wear many hats and pinch hit as a writer, designer or photographer when needed.
As a planner and problem-solver by nature, I naturally gravitate towards roles that leverage this skillset. Over time, my work experience has evolved to include a mix of both business and technical skills, primarily centered around technology marketing.
Tell us a little about your family.
My wife, Jodi, is a physician at Providence in Hood River, working in outpatient internal medicine. We have two kids, ages 10 and 13, who are involved in a variety of activities including gymnastics, Lego robotics and backpacking.
What’s your favorite thing about working on the agency side?
The variety. I’m constantly meeting people and being exposed to different business models and new marketing challenges. I also like the creative energy of the internal team and the highly-collaborative way the work gets done.
How did you get involved with Blue Collar?
I’ve known Rob, Tom and April for a long time. Rob reached out to me when they were looking for an account manager, and the conversation went from there!
Why do you believe in Blue Collar?
It’s all about the people. I believe in Blue Collar because everyone is so capable and committed to doing great work on behalf of our clients.
What are your favorite sites, books, places for inspiration?
I use quite a few online resources to learn and stay current in my field. As a photographer, one of my favorites is CreativeLive. They host online training on a variety topics including studio lighting, post-processing, retouching, and graphic design.
What’s your favorite season and why?
I enjoy the fall. It feels like time slows down and I get to savor the end of summer while making the most of the fleeting days before winter sets in. I especially love the long days, dramatic skies, and changing colors.
What do you do for fun?
I’m all about backpacking, snowboarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, and photography.
What do you consider the greatest human invention of all time?
I’ve got to go with semiconductors and the rapid evolution of technology that makes the iPhone possible today.
